Sample TransUnion Letter

If you find items on your TransUnion credit report that you believe are unfair or inaccurate you have a right to dispute them. TransUnion is required by law to respond to you within a certain amount of time (usually 30 days) regarding false and/or inaccurate information.

When you contact any credit bureau be specific as to the inaccuracies and address them directly, with as much documentation as you can. Be straightforward about the inaccuracy, explaining why you believe it’s inaccurate. Remember that TransUnion is receiving thousands of inquiries like yours every day.

Here’s a sample of wording you can use when corresponding with TransUnion via a dispute letter.
